About Nancy
With regard to personal photography projects, my primary interest is to explore communities with my camera. It is the combination of artistry with the camera telling stories and learning about people and place that has greatest appeal. Past projects include Organic Farm, Migrant Farm Worker, Summertime in Iceland, Chinatown, and 21st Century Schools.
Work has been exhibited nationally and internationally to include Harvard University's Fogg Art Museum, Cambridge, MA, and Galerie St. Benezet, Avignon, France. In the Washington, DC area where I live, I have been in numerous group exhibitions while solo exhibitions include the Arlington Art Center. Collections include the Library of Congress.
I am an experienced photography teacher and love to share what I know about documentary photography. I have been teaching workshops for over fifteen years and have offerings throughout the US.
Although I am a Washington, DC based editorial photographer, I work internationally as well as at national and local venues. Local functions include embassy events, and meetings on Capitol Hill. I have photographed numerous weddings, portraits, public relations events, and special occasions within the greater Washington, DC area. Clients include National Geographic Traveler and World Vision.
